Welcome to day twenty-six of 28 days of Self-Love.
We’re almost at the end. How do you feel after yesterday’s exercise? Let’s continue to cultivate the habit of Self-Love through creativity, breath, and gratitude.
freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility.
“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.” —Buddha

- Day 26 Exercise: Go Within
Take note of all your reactions and responses that are on autopilot. Like, “I hate Mondays,” “Traffic is always backed up,” “I just can’t get going.” Just notice how many negative things pop into your mind and slip out of your mouth during the monotony of the day.
When you get a chance take a few minutes to jot down as many as you can remember. Then try to consciously remember the next time a negative phrase wants to slip out, tweak it to the positive. “Another Monday, another fresh start.” “I can use my morning commute to do my daily list of affirmations or run gratitude.” “I feel refreshed and energized.” Sometimes just telling yourself something until you believe it makes you actually begin to believe it. Sort of like smiling has been proven to actually make you feel happier.
Cultivating inner peace takes practice. It does not mean that nothing bad will ever happen, but when situations arise you can choose to respond differently. With daily practice of mindfulness during the mundane and flipping our outlook around, we become better equipped to handle the truly difficult times.
- Day 26 Create: Three Line Poem
Create a poem equivalent of inner peace.
Here is my creative work as a result of today’s exercise:
The soft sunrise and moisture on the ground from last night’s rainfall.
Three Line Poem:
the warmth of my focus
has turned inward
as I root into this earth
