Welcome to day twenty-one of 28 days of Self-Love.
We’re coming to the close of week three now. How do you feel?
Ready to continue, lets to cultivate the habit of Self-Love through creativity, breath, and gratitude.

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” —Einstein
- Music Inspiration: o k h o, Saito – Caffeine (There wasn’t a YouTube with the correct track for this one, so I had to link to the Spotify playlist, 28 days of Self-Love, that I created. If you don’t have a Spotify acct. you’ll only get to hear a snippet here, but you can create an account for free and then listen to the entire track.)
- Day 21 Exercise: Balance
Begin where you are. Do what you can.
Just like learning to ride a bike, we sometimes fall down before we find our groove. It’s the same with life.
Look through your journal and notes you’ve kept over the past three weeks and notice any recurring themes. Where do you seem to be concentrating most of your energy? What are some of the struggles? (Setting aside time each day, putting others’ needs first, just running on empty)?
Take a good twenty minutes and free write today. Think about where you are and what you can do now, in this moment, to implement even the smallest change to begin to restore the balance in your daily life.
We all get caught up in the day-to-day from time to time and need a kick in the pants to jump-start ourselves and get back on the bike so to speak. It’s okay if you’re off track or have fallen behind. It’s okay if all your intentions were good and then “life” got in the way. The point here is to keep moving.
Do what you can with what you have.
- Day 21 Create: hay(na)ku
Now I want you to create a hay(na)ku about where you are today.
These are easy: 1st line, one word. 2nd line, two words. 3rd line, three.
Now have fun, be gentle with yourself, get creative, and play with a word balance.
Here is my creative work as a result of today’s exercise:
In nothing exists everything—
endings are beginnings
Love and Ink,
I invite you to share your poems in the comment section below or link to a blog or personal website. Read and comment on others. Introduce yourselves. Get involved. I’m excited to see what all you lovely souls have created.
Three weeks down woohoo!! See you back here tomorrow with a new week of Self-Love.
