Welcome to day sixteen of 28 days of Self-Love.
Let’s celebrate Self-Love through creativity, breath, and gratitude. Hold space with me.
mental calmness, composure, and evenness of temper, especially in a difficult situation.
“To say what you want to say, you must create another language and nourish it for years with what you have loved, with what you have lost, with what you will never find again.” —Giorgos Seferis

- Day 16 Exercise: Cull Out
Today pick one space, a drawer, a closet, a spare room, a garage, a shed, etc. and cull out. Go through any excess “stuff” you are holding on to. Make piles: donate, recycle, repurpose, tag sale, or just trash for any excess “stuff” that is clogging up your physical space. Ask yourself what am I holding on to that I no longer need? What no longer serves me in any way?
Sometimes during the most difficult times, it helps to clear space in our physical reality to pave the way free for our spiritual healing. A bonus to the physical act of cleaning up and clearing out is that the time spent in quiet during this activity is absorbed within your entire energy field and helps clear the mind.
- Day 16 Create: Free Write
No poetry today unless you are inspired to share something. But just hold space with the freedom you’ve unearthed by clearing out even the smallest space in your physical area. Feel free to journal for a few minutes on how culling out what no longer serves you inspired you to embrace renewal and a clearer energetic space.
Here is my creative work as a result of today’s exercise:
We are all connected and in the most difficult of times when we can go within the warmth of our hearts and give of that warmth in some small way to another, we embrace our interconnectedness and humanness. When we struggle we learn what no longer serves us. When we learn what no longer serves us, we can let go. When we let go, we grow. We can make a ritual of deep cleaning and clearing out periodically. As we check in with the physical space we occupy we begin to understand more about the inner space we occupy. “As above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul” —Hermes Trismegistus
Love and Ink,
I invite you to share your poems in the comment section below or link to a blog or personal website. Read and comment on others. Introduce yourselves. Get involved. I’m excited to see what all you lovely souls have created.
Feel lightness within the space you’ve cleared and cultivated today! See you back here tomorrow with another day of Self-Love.
