Pockets and Poppies

I’ve poppies growing

out of my eyes

sockets bursting

with all the goodbyes

and an iced blade

with the sermonless Sermon

on the Mount that’s slipped

like icecaps and drudgery

of all our melted life

amidst the barren branch of love
