less sense – Day 18

i’m not a pretty girl
i’m a child that died
i’m whiskey neat in a dirty glass
and the horror in my father’s eyes

i’m not a pretty girl
i’m a woman with sins
i’m scars beneath the surface of bone
and every rejection before even my own

i’m not a pretty girl
i’m a senseless routine
of december’s tears in a permafrost past
and all the love where only goodbyes—were meant to last

Words, love them! Have some? Leave them.
