The Mask Is Off- Day 18

From within my failures
I have carved out a life,
a place of quiet contempt
for the lemon nectar gods
that forgot to share their
sun, their rays, their light.

I’ve sat alone in darkness,
paved paths in ruddy earth,
and blazed trails of glorious
failure. But I’ve done this—on
my own. And here I am again.

Bearability of this humanness,
this form of veiled sense and
absentminded nonsense, I sit.
A place of quiet content—
I have carved out a life
from my failures within.
