component of expiry

“Urban Planning in the Air 1” abstract drawing by Matthew Atabet

My chalice is full, earthen clumps of failure
choking the air from punctured lungs
fluid fills from the abandoned water-bridge
as the fire slowly dies

Choking the air from punctured lungs
passion for a dying craft
is oftentimes all I’ve left

Fluid fills from the abandoned water-bridge
a form, the art too esoteric to comprehend
function that matters not

As the fire slowly dies
elements sift through time,
meaning distorted and innocence lost—

  3. I don’t want to be the weird psycho commenting guy, but when I’m being introspective, I realize I am the weird psycho commenting guy. Anyway, a shadowy piece, Grace. I love simple lines that carry weight: “As the fire slowly dies.” Indeed.

Words, love them! Have some? Leave them.
