overlooked

overlooked

On a street
where empty meets
an intersection
of false-lived lives,

I remember
being disillusioned
awfully young.
Moons were hung,

and the sky
a different hue,
inside my mind
words were sung.

It took some years
to realize,
the disillusionment
was reality

and that reality
was the lie.
On a street
where empty meets

an intersection
of false-lived lives,
people quick to judge
simply pass me by.

  1. Grace, this poem leaves me breathless! I know a girl who fits these words I will pass it on!
Thank you again… Your words are like Christmas morning to me…bright, anticipating,
    And full of love.

  2. I liked “people quick to judge simply pass me by.” Somehow it made me think of homeless people on the street corners. Some are really in need of help, others are scammers taking advantage of charity. It’s easy to assume everyone falls in the latter category and it’s easy for people to rush by.

Words, love them! Have some? Leave them.
